Laura Blanchette (South Shore/Online)
Laura has extensive experience with countless species but she has been working with dogs for over ten years. Her passion stems from childhood, reading dog encyclopedias for fun! She got her first dog, Reese, when she was 9 and trained him herself. In 2014, Laura got a job as a camp counselor at Best Friends Pet Hotel. That was where her passion for dog training was solidified. This is also when she got her horse, Missy, and began training the 3 year old mare herself. She graduated college with a degree in English, but knew she wanted to continue working with dogs. After almost six years of doing structured and training walks, she needed a break from the industry. The next year and a half she took a job working in music venues! Loving it but missing dogs, she then worked at an animal rescue and trained in group puppy classes on the side for a year before knowing she wanted to start her own training business. Shortly after, she teamed up with Jaclyn to create Take a Paws. Laura’s extensive experience with customer service allows her to communicate her training methods effectively. Added to her experience with horses, dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles, and even assorted farm animals truly makes her stand out in her knowledge of animal behavior and interactions. She trains with a unique blend of verbal and nonverbal communication, and will teach you to do the same! Laura is excited to be able to help pets and their families live happier, healthier lives!
